Not known for my love of medical procedures, especially injections, I was not looking forward to today. We had signed up for the shot clinic here at the RV park. But we dutifully arrived at the appointed hour, filled out the two pages of repeating information (how many times on one page do they really need my name, insurance ID number, and my address?), presented our insurance card and then "faced the music." Since we were just recently eligible for Medicare we had never gotten pneumonia shots....so we each "got it" once in each arm, and we are now hopefully protected from flu as well as pneumonia.
Beyond that, we are still dealing with all sorts of issues trying to become established with new primary care physicians. The Veteran's Administration may provide wonderful benefits, but they certainly don't provide clear and concise information on how to go about getting them, or telling you exactly what they are in your case. It would help if they just answered the phone! Private sector offices in this area don't fare much better for us. They all are very crowded, seem impersonal and perhaps we'd do better if we spoke Spanish. Fortunately, we have no great medical needs at this time.
The weather is beautiful and we continue to enjoy this idylic time of year at Palm Creek.
